This was due to a Condensate Pump issue upon returning from a long weekend away. This technician was knowledgeable and ultimately resolved the issue when I SUGGESTED (he asked me what I wanted done)he clean out the pump and see if that resolved the issue of a noisy pump with grinding noises as it shutdown (the reason for the service call). Clean out did resolve the problem. At least as of now. Additionally, he said he could not do anything to resolve a rattling noise when the Blower Motor was on high speed saying it was vibration in the Ductwork. This Technician is competent but lacks customer service skills and sensitivities. Perhaps as I was a last minute appointment he was at the end of a long day. I have been with Edison for a long time (with a break when the business was sold). My first gas furnace system was installed by the Iarappino family in 1999. When they repurchased the company I came back. I must say this is the first time I have been quite honestly “blown away” by the attitude of any of the many Technicians who have serviced me throughout the years. I was also charged a fuel charge of $10.00 which was never explained to me when I made the appointment or by the Technician……..he attributed the overage to tax on the $70 service call charge. When I ultimately saw the bill I saw the fuel add on.

Conducted a full preventative maintenance service on a Ruud RA1630AJ2 3-ton air conditioning system for our client in Scotch Plains. Used a Fieldpiece SDMN6 Manifold to check refrigerant charge via subcooling method. Noted a 4°F subcooling delta, so removed 6oz of R-410A refrigerant. Flushed condenser coil with Nu-Calgon CalClean and straightened bent fins. Replaced air filters and lubricated fan motors. Cycled unit through heating and cooling modes, documenting operating pressures and temperatures. System operating within Ruud specifications upon departure.

Carried out seasonal AC maintenance on a Trane XR14, model 4TTR4048L1000A. Identified compromised ducting that was reducing system efficiency. Repaired the ductwork by sealing leaks and replacing sections with significant wear using UL 181 tape and mastic. Additionally, installed new insulated flex duct, model Thermaflex M-KC, to ensure optimal airflow. Concluded by testing the system to guarantee restored efficiency and comfort levels.
Completed a repair on a Carrier Infinity 18 AC unit in Scotch Plains, NJ. Diagnosed and rectified compressor and electrical issues. Cleaned and assessed coils and filters for optimal function. Replaced faulty parts, tightened connections, and calibrated thermostat. Verified performance through rigorous testing.
In Scotch Plains, NJ addressed an AC malfunction on a Trane XR17 unit. Diagnosed and resolved capacitor failure in the compressor. Cleaned coils and inspected filters for efficiency. Replaced capacitor, calibrated thermostat, and tested system performance.
